In the last year I haven’t devoted as much time as I would like to my fitness journey and writing. I was doing really well and then some things just happened that caused me to put things on the backburner. I shouldn’t have done this, but all I can do is move forward. I have decided to take the next nine weeks to establish good habits again regarding my workout regime, nutrition, setting aside time to write, and striving to be a good person.
How do I plan to proceed the next nine months? First I decided to participate in a nine week challenge created by Nicole Wilkins. I love lifting weights and really enjoy the challenges she creates. My problem is I can always do the workouts and struggle with the nutrition portion. I decided there was only one way for me to address what goes into my mouth, a food journal. I started writing down everything I ate last week and so far so good. It has really helped me start to fix some poor eating habits.
I used to post myself working out on Instagram to hold myself accountable. I haven’t gone back to that yet, but it did seem to work. I think I even inspired a few people with my posts on Instagram. I just created a new Instagram handle @pammyegram so I guess I need to start posting there to go along with this blog. I also created a YouTube Channel with the handle PammyeChannel. This is all a work in progress. I will make a commitment to post three times in the next week working out. I will post my first video of me working out before I go to bed this evening. I am in my late fifties so if you check it out expect to see a woman in her late fifties working out. Don’t get me wrong, I am no slacker. I just won’t look like some of the beautiful images you see of people working out. I struggle, but I am always determined to do my best. Sometimes adaptation is my middle name.
I started this blog today. My goal will be to post something in this blog a minimum of three times a week. I find that writing gives me a creative outlet that I need.
So far eleven days into the New Year I am happy to say that I have set time aside every day to work on my resolutions: keep a food journal, work out, start a blog, and strive to be a good person. The first three are easy to measure. The one about striving to be a good person is not judged by me, but all those around me. I believe it also means trying my best to respect the environment around me. Every year I also like to spend quality time with my amazing family and friends. If anyone else has these same aspirations and goals perhaps we can encourage one another.
Always Grateful,
Pammye
