Did you grow up with a brother or two? Growing up, I had two, and let me tell you—life was never boring. While they can be a handful when you’re young, those “rotten” moments somehow turn into the best stories as you get older.
The Great Park Eviction
I’ll never forget the time my older brother decided I needed an unexpected trip to the park across the street. He didn’t just ask me to go; he picked me up, threw me over his shoulder, and ran out the door! After dropping me in the middle of the park, he raced back to the house and locked every single door so I couldn’t get back in.
The Living Room Lockdown
Then there was my other brother. We had these gates on the living room, mostly to keep the dogs out. One day, he decided those gates were the perfect jail cell. He grabbed his bicycle lock, secured the gates, and left me trapped in the living room with no way out!
The Cycle Continues
It seems the annoying brother gene is strong, because I saw it in with my son and daughter. My son used to take the light from his sister’s closet and put it on top of the kitchen cabinets. Since he was so much taller than her, she’d walk into a dark closet, completely unable to reach her own light.
Somehow, we all survive the mischief of our brothers. Even though they can be “rotten” while you’re growing up, they end up being pretty amazing people to have in your corner once you’re all grown.
